The craft on screen
35 films, programmes and tapes from 1975 to 2026 in which a source says a personal watercraft is on screen, in 8 kinds, from features and television to the sport's own race tapes. Each row says what the scene shows, which craft it is where a source names it, and the source it rests on.
The 36 dedicated video games are catalogued at Games under Model Reference; the magazines and the rights position of each tape are in the media.
Covers are shown as a historical record of each title. Each belongs to its studio, broadcaster or maker, credited under it, and nothing here is for sale.

How to read a card
- The year it came out or was broadcast, and what kind of thing it is. The colour down each card's edge says the same at a glance: films and television, race tapes and documentaries, makers' films and commercials, news and safety film.
- The scene, in plain words, saying no more than its source does.
- The craft, named only when a source names it. Most sources do not.
- The stamp says whether you can watch it:
Official copy exists The maker, broadcaster or rights holder has put it out, and a source on the card points to it. (6 titles)
Rights holder not asked The footage exists, but nobody has asked its owner, so this site names it and links only to its sources. (29 titles) - The sources each card rests on, folded under Sources at its foot. Likely means one good source; Contested means sources disagree, and the card shows both.

Kawasaki JetSki Story 1975
Promotional reel introducing Kawasaki's new 400cc Jet Ski to boaters; one segment of a 1970s dealer showroom film player.
On screen Kawasaki 400cc JetSki, likely
More about this
WCJ 2014 identifies the reel as a segment of the Kawasaki Good Times Theater player used in 1970s dealer showrooms, one of several promotional videos for the Jet Ski.
Not known (3)
- Titled Kawasaki JetSki Story 1975 in the WCJ 2014 headline (the uploader's title) and Kawasaki Good Times Theatre: Jet Rider (1975) on an embedding page; neither is Kawasaki's (checked 2026-10-07).
- 1975 is the uploader's title; the description WCJ quotes calls the restored video a collection of mid to late 1970s Kawasaki moments (checked 2026-10-07).
- Released title, length and producer not found in any Kawasaki source; searched 2026-10-07: web search for Good Times Theater with Kawasaki and Jet Ski, the WCJ 2014 article.

1977 Television series

Title card, MGM Television (Rosner Television), broadcast on NBC CHiPs
The two lead officers enjoy a ride on Wetbikes before chasing down criminals.
On screen Wetbike, likely
More about this
The Wetbike claim rests on Personal Watercraft alone, which names no episode, so the row is at series level. The UCLA pilot record (first broadcast 1977-09-15, NBC) is cited only for the year and production; it says nothing about Wetbikes.
Not known (1)
- The episode is named Overload (season 5, 1982) only by Wikipedia and TVmaze, which are low and not used; no held text says whether the chase itself is ridden on the Wetbikes (searched 2026-10-07: web search; UCLA FTVA search for CHiPs and CHiPs Overload, no Overload record).

Who made it, source by source. AFI quotes the end credits: "Wetbike - furnished by Arctic Enterprises, Thief River Falls, Minn." MI6-HQ calls it "Spirit Marine's prototype" and Spirit Marine a subsidiary of Arctic Enterprises. Personal Watercraft calls it "the original Wetbike prototype". The Ian Fleming Foundation says the two screen bikes went back to the inventor's own workshop after filming.

The year is the maker's own dating since 2012 (1990), not a settled fact; his 2008 page's (c) 1988-2008 is the only formal date statement held. Hemmel notes a mock commercial after the credits for a rider's signature ski. The director's own excerpt uploads may be linked.
Sources disagree (5 readings)
- Jet Dreams director page 2008 says
- The director's own page in 2008 reads 20th Anniversary Re-release 1988 - 2008 and (c) 1988-2008, so 1988.
- Hemmel review Ride Magazine 2010 says
- The reviewer dates it 1989 and calls the DVD a 20th Anniversary edition re-released in 2009.
- Jet Dreams director page 2016 says
- The director's own page in 2012 and 2016: 20th Anniversary 1990 - 2010 and 25th Anniversary 1990 - 2015, so 1990.

- The director's 2023 upload calls it a 1990's jet ski film, giving a decade only.

This is culture and it decides nothing. A craft in a film is no guide to which parts fit a real one, and a year here is a release or broadcast year, never a model year. 6 of the 35 rows name the craft, as Kawasaki or Wetbike; for the rest no source read says which make is on screen.
Most people look for this list as jet ski movies. Jet Ski is Kawasaki's trademark and only some of these craft are Kawasakis, so where a row needs one word for all of them it says personal watercraft, and it names the make only when a source does.
A title missing from this list may simply be unsourced: if you know a source that says a craft is on screen in something not listed here, send it and it will be read.
