How we know: Each bar runs the years printed on that era's panel, and which eras a page falls in is the archive's grouping of its records, not the length of anyone's career.

1996 · Likely
Group K's report on the 1996 IJSBA Region 1 offshore season names him, printed with Yamaha-Bellflower Yam, among four Yamaha riders who made up the early lead pack of nearly every Region 1 event, starting the season on a stock Raider hull and moving to a Venture.

Recognition
The PWCOFFSHORE hall's page of August 2008 names him its first and only member, inducted on 20 July 2008, and the rosters of 2019 and 2026 still list him first.

The hall's citation credits him with four Long Beach to Catalina and Back offshore national championships and says he was the first to use GPS to cross the channel; a photo caption on the same page dates that to the 1997 race. These are the hall's words, and no other held document says so (searched the archive's mirror and research cache, 2026-10-05).

What the archive has not read (1)
- No result sheet for any Long Beach to Catalina race before 2006 is held (searched the archive's mirror and research cache for Womack and the race's results, 2026-10-05), so the four championships the hall's citation credits are not listed as titles.

- Offshore results page 2008 (web.archive.org): Race results page on pwcoffshore.com, captured January 2008, pwcoffshore.com; editorial, medium. Winners lists for the Long Beach to Catalina and Mark Hahn races, the 2007 and 2006 Long Beach to Catalina results and the 2007 Sprint Nationals at Long Beach. Medium as a page restating results; a winners list on it is not a result sheet.
- Group K offshore racing 1996 (groupk.com): Offshore Racing 1996, The View from Region 1 (Group K, groupk.com), Group K, 1996; enthusiast media, medium. Medium as a trade participant's period report: Group K sponsored one of the riders it describes. The shop's telephone number is removed from the held copy.
- Offshore hall of fame 2019 (web.archive.org): PWCOFFSHORE Endurance and Offshore Racing Hall of Fame (pwcoffshore.com, captured September 2019), pwcoffshore.com; editorial, high. The hall's own roster of six with a citation for each. High for who it inducted and when; its citations are the hall's retrospective tribute, and a page that repeats one says whose words they are.
- Offshore hall of fame 2026 (pwcoffshore.com): Pwcoffshore Racing Hall of Fame (pwcoffshore.com, live page read October 2026), pwcoffshore.com; editorial, high. The hall's roster of eight with induction years, adding the two inductees of 23 November 2019 that the September 2019 capture predates, and the text of each citation, among them an induction speech. High for who it inducted and when; the citations are the hall's retrospective tribute, and a page that repeats one says whose words they are.
Changes to this page
- 2026-10-09: Removed the Long Beach to Catalina and Back wins of 1997, 1999 and 2001 and the 2005 Mark Hahn win, which rested on the site's winners lists rather than a result sheet; the significance now gives his 2006 placing.
