Organising the sport

2023, 2025 and 2026 · Confirmed

The UIM's rosters of its commissions and committees with the status 14 March 2023 and 13 October 2025, and its yearbook published in June 2026, list Algo Kuus of Estonia as a Safety Commissioner of the Aquabike Committee, one of two the committee lists. The same documents describe the committee as established to bring together international sporting and commercial interests, administer the calendar and propose ecologically sound developments for Aquabike racing.

2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2026 · Confirmed

The UIM lists Algo Kuus of Estonia as a member of its International Technical Commission (COMINTECH) in its yearbooks published in June 2017 and May 2019, in its rosters with the commissions' status of 18 February 2021, 14 March 2023 and 13 October 2025, and in its yearbook published in June 2026. The documents give that commission's duties as the study of all technical rules proposed for international competition, tests on boats, equipment and materials, and homologation procedures; they do not tie the commission to aquabike.

2017 and 2019 · Confirmed

The UIM's yearbooks published in June 2017 and May 2019 print Algo Kuus as Secretary General of the Estonian Powerboating Union in their lists of national authorities. The yearbook published in June 2026 prints the union's president, vice president and UIM representative and no secretary general.

Likely

Three Estonian race guides name Algo Kuus as the jury chairman of an aquabike event: the Estonian guide for the third round of the 2017 Estonian championship and cup at Valkla on 19 and 20 August 2017 ("Zürii esimees"), the advance programme for the Nordic Championship 2018 at Pärnu on 10 to 12 August 2018, run with the second rounds of the Estonian championship and cup ("Race jury chairman"), and the advance programme for the JetSki Tallinn Open of 16 to 18 August 2019, organised by the Estonian Powerboating Union with three clubs ("Race jury chairman aquabike"). These three guides announce him as an official and do not show that he served. The guides print the name alone; reading their Algo Kuus as the UIM's officer of the same name rests on the name, the country and the Estonian Powerboating Union, and is the archive's inference.

What the archive has not read (2)

  • No held document says when his Aquabike Committee post began: the UIM's yearbooks of 2017 and 2019 and its roster of April 2021 list two other people as the committee's safety commissioners, and the roster of March 2023 is the first held document that lists him in the post (read 2026-10-09).
  • No result sheet held for the Estonian events of 2017 to 2019 names the jury, so no held document shows him serving at a named event (searched the Estonian federation's mirrored texts for the name, 2026-10-09).

The organiser's supplementary regulations, in Estonian, for the third round of the 2017 Estonian championship and cup, the second round of the enduro championship and a parallel slalom at Valkla on 19 and 20 August 2017. The held text is the first page of the PDF held in mirror/ejml/, copied in the PDF's own text order, because the extract held beside the PDF shifts the posts below the jury chairman; in the PDF's order it names "Zürii esimees" (jury chairman) Algo Kuus, Tehniline kontroll Rainer Nikiforov and Rajameister Marten Männi. The Valkla August 2017 guide announces its officials and does not show that they served. The English guide of the same round prints the posts and names in separate columns.
