How we know: Each bar runs the years printed on that era's panel, and which eras a page falls in is the archive's grouping of its records, not the length of anyone's career.
Organising the sport
2004 · Likely
An IJSBA post shown with the date 26 January 2004 announces that Biorn Tangeland had been appointed the association's Managing Director, effective immediately, following its re-organisation, and quotes the spokesperson for its Transitional Committee on the appointment. The same post says he joined the association in 1995 and had developed and directed its International Affiliate program since the program was created that year, and had managed the international rider and affiliate support program for the World Finals; that is the association's account in 2004. The text prints no 2004 of its own; the year is the date the page displays, and its nine years since 1995 agree with it.

What the archive has not read (1)
- No held document of his own time names him in the International Affiliate program before 2004, and none names a post of his after the consulting role announced in August 2005 (searched the archive's mirror and research cache for Tangeland, 2026-10-09). Two more IJSBA posts of April 2005, seen in copies saved during research, quote him as managing director and are not cited because they add nothing to the posts above.
