None of the two SuperJet 701 (square-nose) model years verified, which needs a check against the maker's own document, which the row names, and an engine figure; all two name a source below.

Some Yamaha numbers are measured sizes rather than the number in the model name: a GP760 is held as 753, a GP1200R as 1131, a GP1300R as 1296. None of these figures has been checked against a Yamaha document unless a cited source states it.

Model year Engine, as the records hold it Fuel system Strokes Hull type What the record says Source
1994 701 Carburettor Two-stroke Stand-up US model code SJ700S. Square nose and round nose are owners' names for the two hulls, not Yamaha's: no Yamaha document held here uses either (searched Yamaha's own WaveRunner history and every other document held here, 2026-10-06). The hull changed for 1996, when Yamaha's own model code moved from SJ700T to SJ700AU; the aftermarket and the press call the earlier hull square nose and the later round nose (Pro Watercraft Racing, "End of an Era: Yamaha SuperJet", 2020; jetdrift.com; WJSM, 2020). First year of the 701 in the SuperJet, still in the square-nose hull by the scene's naming; the round-nose arrives with the SJ700A series in 1996. Same 61X engine family as the FX-1 released the same year. Source 1
1995 701 Carburettor Two-stroke Stand-up US model code SJ700T. Second year of the 701 square-nose. Yamaha Japan lists no SJ code under 1995, so the JDM side is unconfirmed for this year and the code stays null. Source 2
