The one SuperJet (SJ650) model year is not verified, which needs a check against the maker's own document, which the row names, and an engine figure; it names its source below.

Some Yamaha numbers are measured sizes rather than the number in the model name: a GP760 is held as 753, a GP1200R as 1131, a GP1300R as 1296. None of these figures has been checked against a Yamaha document unless a cited source states it.

Model year Engine, as the records hold it Fuel system Strokes Hull type What the record says Source
1990 650 Carburettor Two-stroke Stand-up Start of the SuperJet line. Pointed-nose hull in this era, not the round-nose the Ski Lites class runs. US model code SJ650D, the first of the SJ650 series that runs to the 1993 SJ650R. Yamaha's own history calls this machine the origin of the SJ series and dates the all-new 2021 four-stroke as coming thirty years after it. IJSBA's 2002 rulebook prints "SuperJet (633cc)" in its approved-model list (rule 4.1.8), while no Yamaha document held here gives a displacement figure for this machine (checked against Yamaha's English and Japanese histories and the index of Yamaha News, 2026-10-06).
